Dr Munidasa Winslow specialises in addiction and impulse control disorders such as alcohol, substance dependence, gambling, gaming and sexual compulsivity amongst others. He is a pioneer in addiction and impulse control disorders in the Asia-Pacific region.

Before founding Promises, Dr Winslow served as chief of the Addiction Medicine Department at IMH. He played a pioneering role in the setting up of the National Addictions Management Service (NAMS).

His career began at the Institute of Mental Health, where he worked in general psychiatry and addiction medicine since 1988. His dedication to addiction medicine and commitment to the community culminated in the setting up of the National Addictions Management Service (NAMS), where he played a pioneering role. Before leaving public service to found his private practice, Promises Pte Ltd, he was chief of the Addiction Medicine Department at IMH.

Dr Winslow is a pioneer in addiction and impulse control disorders in the Asia-Pacific region as well as a figure of international renown in his field, making him a sought after speaker wherever and whenever addiction conferences are held. Whether it be speaking with a patient or addressing an audience, he burnishes his experience and intellect with a down-to-earth jocularity – inspiring confidence in his ability whilst making one feel at ease in his presence.

On top of being a fully qualified psychiatrist, Dr Winslow puts in the time and effort to maintain and further his therapy and counselling skills.  Published widely in the fields of general psychology and addiction issues, he continues his academic and research interests through his academic appointments at NUHS. He also teaches many counselling courses, where he draws upon his extensive experience to empower therapists to develop and hone their craft – which for Dr Winslow, is a fierce passion.
